Luis Fortuño said Friday that Rick Santorum went the wrong way in suggesting that the territory needed to make English “main language” as a pre-condition for statehood. “I would have handled the question differently — quite differently — from Sen. Santorum, because I would have been clear that there are two official languages here,” Fortuño told POLITICO. “I don’t know why he said what he said, but at the end of the day, I think it’s a state’s rights issue as well.” . . .
