Yazidis from Iraq Tell of Harrowing Escape From Islamic State Militants (video)

Video - Iraq's Yazidis Tell of Harrowing Escape From Islamic State Militants - WSJ.com: "Salwah Khalaf and her family fled Sinjar in Iraq last week when they heard insurgents from the Islamic State were about to attack. WSJ's Nour Malas reports.

Still think ANYONE in Washington DC knows what they are doing? Republicans, Democrats, Bush, Obama--they are all responsible for what is now happening in Iraq and Syria and the rise of ISIS (members of which the Obama administration trained and armed to oppose Syria's Bashar al-Assad. Regime change, nation-building--what a disaster!

Obama, Democrats, Delusion and Denial

Washinton Post 1-col. lead, "Obama approval rating at new low: POLL POINTS TO PERIL FOR DEMOCRATS -- Most favor GOP-held Congress to check president," by Dan Balz and Peyton M. Craighill: "Obama's approval rating fell to 41 percent, down from 46 percent through the first three months of the year and the lowest of his presidency in Post-ABC News polls. Just 42 percent approve of his handling of the economy, 37 percent approve of how he is handling the implementation of the [ACA a/k/a Obamacare] and 34 percent approve of his handling of the situation involving Ukraine and Russia." http://goo.gl/LrlGIA Graphic of Obama approval/disapproval over six years http://goo.gl/b4kTBQ
(tip to: Politico Playbook)

Waiting for the Democrats and their sycophants in the media to spin this! LOL! Although, they will probably just ignore and deny reality -- just like they have been doing in the Obama White House for a long time. It must be nice to be able to live in a bubble of denial and delusion.

What were Ted Cruz and the Tea Party Thinking?

I like Ted Cruz, I really do, and I think he and his wife are truly impressive.  But I don't get, and never will, what the heck he and his compatriots in the House were trying to do with the shutdown over Obamacare (and I said so at the time), but I see Ted is now trying to justify the stance he took--

Unabashed Cruz in Iowa defends self on ObamaCare fight, against GOP establishment | Fox News: ""One of the things we accomplished in the fight over ObamaCare is we elevated the national debate over what a disaster, what a train wreck, how much ObamaCare is hurting millions of Americans across this country," Cruz said at the Iowa GOP's annual fundraising dinner in Des Moines. “Senate Republicans didn't stand together. Had we stuck together, the outcome might be very different. The House does now, but I'm confident that the U.S. senate will in time listen to the American people.”"

Problem is, Ted and his House compatriots were trying to stop a train wreck that was, and is, to their political advantage to let happen, and was going to happen anyway (they had no hope of either stopping or delaying it at the time). Obamacare, a term I prefer over "Affordable Care Act" since the program is far from "affordable" for most Americans and is an unmitigated disaster on controlling health care costs, is a slow-moving train wreck that will hang most Democrats come November, 2014. So Ted, for now, just shut up. I don't think even you have any idea how bad this thing is going to be--let it come to full fruition. Hold your fire, you don't need to tell anyone how bad Obamacare will be, and how the Democrats really stuck it to most Americans with this Obamamess. When the time is right, they will know, they won't need to be told.

2012 Election not a Mandate for either Obama or the Democrats

Forget the "spin" (particularly that generated by the Obama-Mainstream Media which I am getting sick of hearing)--the 2012 election was not  a "mandate" for either Obama/Democrats or the Republicans--

2012 Turnout Dramatically Lower than 2008: "13 million fewer people voted in 2012 than in 2008. 131 million voters cast their ballots in the 2008 election in which Barack Obama defeated John McCain by a 53% to 46% margin. Obama received 69.4 million votes, while McCain received 59.9 million. In 2012, Obama defeated Romney by a 50% to 48% margin. Obama received 59.8 million votes, and Romney received 57.1 million votes -- 2.7 million fewer than Obama in 2012, but also 2.8 million fewer than McCain in 2008. . . President Obama's 2012 vote total -- 59.8 million -- was 100,000 less than the 59.9 million John McCain received in 2008."

Look at the numbers. If the Democrat and Republican Presidential candidates in 2016 continue this trend at the same numbers (Democrat candidate gettting 10 million fewer votes in 2016 than in 2012, and the Republican candidate 3 million less)--the Republican will win by more than 4 million votes!

Mandate? LOL!

Obama Press Secretary Marries ABC Campaign Reporter

Interesting note below--although it only confirms what we've known for years--Democrats and Mainstream Media have been sleeping "in the same bed" for years--so much for objective, professional journalism! (LOL)

Obama Press Secretary Marries ABC Reporter | The Weekly Standard: "A deputy press secretary for Barack Obama's reelection campaign married an ABC reporter over the weekend. The ABC reporter, Matthew Jaffe, "covering the 2012 presidential campaign," according to his biography on the website of ABC News. "For the past year he traveled around the country covering the Republican primary, from the Iowa Straw Poll to the various debates to this year's primaries and caucuses.""

James Carville: Democrats could lose

Interesting:

Carville: Wake up Democrats; you could lose - CNN.com: "You can shoot five Bin Ladens, you can save 10,000 banks and 20 car companies, even pass the most sweeping legislation in modern American history; if people don't think that you are connected to their lives and are fighting for their interests they will vote your tush out of office in a nano-second. For historical reference see Winston Churchill election of 1945 and President George H.W. Bush in 1992."
